For her 2nd birthday, Mommy and Daddy bought Addison her first big girl bedroom set! She was just about ready to outgrow the crib and with Baby #2 coming, we are going to need that crib pretty soon. So we figured now was a great time to try to transition to a big girl bed. I had anticipated this transition being a little rough, because Addison is very much a creature of habit when it comes to when and where she sleeps. But surprisingly she was very excited about the big girl bed. She loved the new quilt and decorations for the new room (her grandparents and aunts helped to accessorize the room with all the coordinating items) and was almost too excited to sleep in such an awesome place. The first few nights we would lay down for bedtime and she would be wide awake and tell me "My big girl bed!" or "Look at my owl pillows!" She was so proud to have graduated to the real deal. After two weeks, she is finally starting to get used to it and is going down much easier... now the only problem is that when I lay down with her for a few minutes, I end up falling asleep with her! Must be that pregnancy fatigue they talk about : P We decided to move the nursery furniture into the spare bedroom, but kept the bed in there as well, so that if my parents or sisters visit, they still have a place to crash for now. Now we just need to start decorating this room for the new baby... only 4 more months to go! Anyway, check out the big girl room below... it's pretty cool!
Meet the Weavers! Scott is the football fanatic husband/daddy that is a Head football coach and teaches PE on the side. Laura is the sometimes OCD wife/mommy who teaches 10th grade AP World History in addition to being super mommy. Addison is the queen bee of the family, nearly four years old, and definitely has quite a bit of diva in her. Avery is the princess of the crew, 18 months old, and is sweet as sugar. Let's not forget the pets too, Miller the slightly obese beagle dog and Whiskers, the killer mountain lion kitty.
Aww...i love it!!!!!! And I'm glad the transition went so smoothly! :)
