The Weaver Family Webpage: Fun (or Misery) at the Pool! : )

What a fun weekend we have had! My sister, Jen, came down from Richmond this weekend to hang out and have fun with us, and my other sister Christine, visited on Saturday from Radford. Since it's February and the snow has almost melted away, what would be more fun than going swimming?! That's right, we went to the water park this weekend! Because that's obviously what every woman wants to do in the dead of winter, looking pale as a ghost. Roanoke Parks and Rec recently opened a brand new state of the art fitness center with a gym, basketball courts, indoor track, but most importantly, it has a pretty awesome indoor water park/pool area. So we decided to take Addison out there on Saturday and see how she likes the water. Well... turns out it was a little overwhelming for the little diva. We made the mistake of going at peak weekend hours when there was probably a million screaming children in the pool, so Addison was a little put off at first. Check that, she was actually pretty miserable and ticked off that I even considered putting her in the pool. After quite a while of trying to get her interested the water fun, she slowly started to warm up, but by that time it was pretty close to her afternoon nap, so she was getting cranky anyway. So the first water park trip wasn't that successful, but hopefully it will get better each time we go. I'm planning to start Addison in baby swim classes in April (only 10 kids per class, so much more low key) and then the outdoor water park will open this summer, (yep, they have built an even bigger and better outdoor facility!) Other than our swimming adventure, we had a pretty relaxing weekend just hanging out with the sisters. Enjoy the pictures below from this weekend!
